Dine
Two AA Rosettes. One long table.
Seasonal Irish cooking in the Drawing Room of a 1727 Georgian house – for residents and non-residents alike.
The Drawing Room
A table of your own. A seasonal Irish menu. An evening, not a service.
Our restaurant has held two AA Rosettes since 2011. In 2025 we were awarded Silver at the Historic Hotels of Europe Restaurant of the Year awards, and named Georgina Campbell’s Small Stay Hideaway of the year.
When you book, the table is yours for the evening – no second seating, no rush, no neighbours watching you eat. It’s worth booking ahead. The menu changes with the seasons, shaped by what’s being landed, grown and reared locally. Our wine list rewards the hard-earned break.
Events & Tastings
Curated evenings. Limited reservations. Book months ahead.
Tuscany Wine Tasting & 4-Course Tasting Dinner
A collaboration with Rocca delle Macie vineyard and JN Wines – four courses, each matched to a wine, with the winemaker’s story along the way.
Reserve →Christmas by Candlelight
A musical evening with soprano Sarah McCourt and a 5-course tasting dinner. The 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions all sold out – book early.
Reserve →The Bar & Wine List
Drinks by the fire before dinner, a proper digestif afterwards. The wine list is a long-held love letter to small producers.

Cooley lamb. Carlingford shellfish. Our own bread.
Our butcher rears his beef on the slopes of Slieve Foy, and our lamb comes from the same mountain – Cooley lamb, regarded as some of the best in the country. From the lough come oysters, mussels, cockles, winkles and crab; from the Mournes across the water, more lamb and more beef.
Herbs are walked in from our own garden. We bake our bread, make every stock and sauce, and churn the ice cream. Every main course on the menu has a vegan version, and we’ll happily adjust for coeliac, dairy-free or any other requirement – just let us know when you book.

“Five stars for breakfast. One of the best breakfast spreads I’ve seen in a hotel. The homemade jams, the honey, the berry compote — all beautiful. I’ll be back at Ghan House simply for your breakfast.”
